HISTORY

In 1951, Mr Franz Iten started to manufacture towel racks, simple pipe bends and luggage carriers for motorcycles with a few employees using an old, manually-powered pipe-bender. The business continuously grew into a specialist in the field of bending technology. The in-house tool manufacturing already allowed to tailor to customer’s desires in industry and metal production early on. When Franz Iten then moved into the company’s own new building in Birmensdorf on the outskirts of Zurich in 1965, the company already employed 25 staff members. In that way, the company Franz Iten AG was established in 1983. In 1994, when Mr Franz Iten was 73 years old, he entered his well-deserved retirement and transferred the company to a family holding, which Franz Iten AG holds still today. Franz Iten AG continued to develop and is now a specialist for prototype production and small series. Today, Franz Iten AG stands for a traditional company with experienced staff who have been loyal to the company for more than 35 years.
